ZAZ and MOE is a small cottage business, located on the coast of southern Maine. I design and paint Fun, Family clothing for children and women using bright, vibrant dyes and paints. Zaz & Moe clothes are for kids of all ages to play in. My designs are inspired by my children, our world through their eyes. All designs are painted, printed and stitched by hand. I started painting fun colorful clothing for my children and their friend’s 8 years ago. There seemed to be a gap in the market for comfortable, colorful, clothes that could take a good roll in the mud and still look good. In 1998 after receiving an overwhelming favorable response to my children’s line and lots of requests, I added a line of women’s clothing, and a homeware line is in the works! Some Zaz & Moe designs are linoleum prints, some are block prints, and some are freehand paintings. All are designed, cut and painted by myself using various materials. (Wood, rubber linoleum and other found materials) Some of the clothing is embellished with ribbon flowers, buttons, (both hand made & purchased) and other suitable items. I hand dye all colored garments using fiber reactive dye for bright colorful results. It is my desire to create fun functional clothes for women and children. Comfortable, colorful clothes for work or play. Zaz & Moe clothing wear beautifully! 100 % cotton clothing pre-shrunk for a true fit and hand dyed and painted in vibrant colors. For ease of care Zaz + Moe clothing can be machine washed in cold water. The paints used are completely machine washable and will not bleed. Air-dry for best results.
