A Little about me
Hello I'm Susan Delsandro Hellier, I am a surface pattern designer, fiber/mixed media artist and teacher. I live on the Coast of Maine, where I pinch myself daily to remind myself, I am not in a dream and all this gorgeousness that surrounds me is real! I am a maker by nature working in many mediums. They all link together for me. I am obsessed with reusing and repurposing whenever possible in my work and life. I love the perfect imperfections of handmade.
I have been designing and selling in shops, boutiques and juried craft shows since the early 1990's under my business name Zaz + Moe (named after my children). I create artwork and products for my own studio shop. I also collaborate with companies to make beautiful products like fabric, home goods, stationery, paper goods and accessories. My work reflects the objects and locations I capture in my photography through my travels and adventures near and far.
I practice productive procrastination; I think my best work comes after a good session! I have been a maker my whole life, the last 9 years I have taken a step back to focus on important life things. I have missed the making. I am slowly getting my groove back. It feels good, it is a part of who I am.
I have recently been working on some new collections and a licensing catalogue. Stay tuned!
